Easyjet is a British low-cost airline headquartered at London Luton Airport.  The airline currently operates in 183 destinations in 6 continents with 325 aircrafts in its fleet. Easyjet Airlines has multiple hubs in Europe and also operates its affiliated airlines Easyjet UK, Easyjet Switzerland and Easyjet Europe. The airline has 29 bases in Europe with the largest one in Gatwick.

Easyjet offers two fare types in its aircraft including Standard fares and FLEXI fare.

Standard Fare

Passengers travelling in Standard fare can carry an under seat bag  with a maximum size of 45 cm x 36 cm x 20 cm. Passengers can always purchase additional baggage either from the website or at the airport counter. Standard fae passengers also have to pay seat selection charges.

FLEXI Fare

Check-in Facilities

Eastjet check-in policy is quite convenient and offers customers multiple ways to check-in. 

  • As per Easyjet check-in policy, passengers can check-in for their easyjet flight anytime between 30 days to 2 hours before the scheduled departure.  
  • You can also download your boarding pass right after Easyjet Airline check in. 
  • Customers can either use the online web check-in or Easyjet mobile app. Apart from the online method, you can always check-in at the airport counter or at the self check-in kiosk.
  • If passengers are travelling with an infant under 2 years old on their lap, then they don’t need a separate boarding pass. However, the infants do need to have their own seat and own boarding pass. 
  • Passengers travelling are not allowed to check-in online and thus need to check-in at the airport. 
  • Passengers having international flights must carry a valid EU or Swiss ID card or passport for international travel.

Easyjet Airlines allows customers to alternatively use either a website or mobile app as per their feasibility for maximum convenience.  

  • As per Easyjet check-in policy, online check-in starts 30 days before scheduled flight departure and closes 2 hours before the flight is airborne.

Airport Check-in

Travellers who prefer to check-in at the airport can either use the self-service kiosk check-in or directly check-in at the airport.

Baggage Policy

Easyjet Airlines offers generous baggage allowance to passengers in all fare types. However, there are certain restrictions on baggage allowance, so it’s always better to check and review before than have to pay extra later.

Baggage Allowance

All passengers travelling in Easyjet can travel with maximum two cabin bags including one small and one large cabin bag depending on their fare purchased. 

  • The maximum size of small cabin baggage should not exceed 45 x 36 x 20 cm including handles and wheels. The maximum weight of the bag should not exceed 15 kg. 
  • The maximum size of large cabin baggage should not exceed 56 x 45 x 25 cm including handles and wheels as per Easyjet Airline baggage policy. 
  • Every passenger with large cabin baggage can experience a speedy boarding experience depending on their fare type. 
  • An Easyjet Plus member can bring one large cabin baggage along with one small baggage as part of their fare type benefits. 
  • The maximum size of large cabin baggage should not exceed 56 x 45 x 25 cm including handles and and wheels. 
  • Passengers travelling with children and infants can buy up to three hold baggage. The standard baggage weight should not be more than 23 kg. You can buy extra weight up to 3 kg or up to 32 kg and maximum total size (length width+height) under 275 cm as per Easyjet Airline baggage allowance.  
  • If you have early morning flights, then you can submit your checked bags the evening before and save time for the next few days. You can utilise the Twilight bag drop option which is available at certain airports like London, Gatwick, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh, Berlin.

Cancellation Policy

Easyjet cancellation policy is flexible and clear to ensure that passengers are well-informed and receive rightful compensation in case of unexpected cancellation delays as per Easyjet airlines flight cancellation policy. 

  • As Easyjet is a low-cost carrier, passengers cancelling their bookings within 24 hours will have to pay a minimal cancellation fee of £49 to receive full refund minus the cancellation fee. 
  • All fares are non-refundable if the bookings are cancelled outside 24 hours. 
  • In case of severe health issues or bereavement, passengers are allowed to cancel their ticket and receive refund or flight voucher which will be valid for 6 months only.
  • Incase of a flight delayed for more than 5 hours, passengers can request for alternate flights for the same destination or can request for cancellation and receive full refund.

Cancellation Fee

All tickets in Easyjet Airlines are subject to cancellation fee, even though cancelled within the 24-hours risk free time. Passenger will receive full refund if the reservation is cancelled within 24 hours of purchase, however after a deduction of cancellation fee.  The cancellation fee is highly determined by destination, timing of revocation, method of revocation and cabin class. 

  • On cancellation with online procedure, passengers will have to pay £49 as cancellation fee. 
  • If passengers cancel the reservation through the airline’s customer care, then the cancellation fee will be £55 as per Easyjet Airlines fee.

EasyJet Refund Policy

The airline provides a flexible and generous refund policy to customers in case of cancellation. 

  • As per Easyjet Airline refund policy, refunds will only be credited to the travellers original payment account. In this case, if the payment mode or account is no longer accessible then the airline will refund the amount to an alternate payment method. 
  • If a passenger has booked the flight from a third-party booking, then the passenger will have to seek the refund from the third-party only. 
  • The refunded amount after ticket cancellation depends upon the destination, fare class and time of cancellation as per Easyjet refund policy.
