Viva Aerobus airline or formally known as Aeroenlaces Nacionales, S.A de C.V is a Mexican low-cost airline. The airline is headquartered at Monterrey International Airport, in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The airline is known as Mexico ‘s third largest airline and eleventh largest in North America. The airline currently operates on more than 50 destinations in Mexico, the United States, and Central and South America combined. Viva Aerobus Airline is also fully owned by the largest bus company group in Mexico. The airline offers customers the connectivity of a point-to-point system with direct flights between mid-sized airports from its major hubs.

Viva Aerobus Airline Cabin Classification

The airline features all economy seat cabin configurations. However, the airline offers customers with three different fare types that allow them to enjoy different amenities on board. The fare type includes Priority seats, Space+, Regular.

Priority Seats

This fare type offers extra legroom and seat pitch to the customers for an extra comfortable journey. As its name suggests, passengers travelling in this fare are eligible to get priority boarding and disembarking. The seats are located on the first row of Viva Aerobus airline flight with additional recline space and overhead bins to store carry-on baggage.

Space +

This fare type offers plenty of space for recline and storage. Passengers travelling in Space+ can standard recline for more comfort. Located in the exit emergency rows, the seat offers more legroom than standard regular seats. This fare does not offer priority boarding.

Regular

These are the most restrictive yet budget-friendly fares in the airline. The featured seats do not include any recline.

Viva Aerobus airline Baggage Policy

The airline allowance ensures that travellers carry appropriate luggage as per size and weight depending on their travel destination. The airline allows passengers to carry two checked baggage on flight. For flights within Mexico, passengers are allowed to carry one piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg and one carry-in baggage weighing 7 kg.

Personal Baggage

All passengers travelling in the airline are entitled to carry one personal baggage which may include handbag, laptop, and backpack. However, passengers should ensure not to exceed the permitted baggage allowance of 18 x 14 x 8 inches.

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers travelling in all the fares are entitled to carry one carry-on baggage that should be kept in overhead compartments during the flight. However, as per the baggage allowance, the permitted dimension of the carry-on baggage is 22 x 16 x 10 inches. Including wheels and handles. The airline advises its passengers travelling light to follow the maximum weight limit of 9 kg. While passengers in Smart Fare are entitled to carry 15 kg. If the carry baggage exceeds beyond the permitted limit then it will be considered as checked baggage.

Checked Baggage

As per the checked baggage allowance, the checked bag allowance depends on the different fare type and booking class. It also depends on the route and destination of the flight. 

• For passengers who are travelling in Smart Fare, they can carry checked baggage weighing not more than 24 kg. 
• The checked baggage allowance must not exceed the dimension of 62 linear inches including handles and wheels as per Viva Aerobus airline baggage policy. 
• For domestic flights within Mexico, you must check the baggage at the baggage submission at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight. 
• For international flights, the airlines suggest the passengers check their baggage at least 3 hours before the scheduled flight departure. 
• As per check-in policy, the check-in closes 70 minutes before the scheduled take off flight.

Viva Aerobus airline Additional Baggage Allowance

Those passengers who are travelling with additional baggage must inform the airline. Passengers can add extra pieces of baggage or increase the weight of current baggage allowance regardless of any fare type purchased. Viva Aerobus Check in Policy

The offers a feasible and convenient check-in policy  that allows customers to check-in at their desire. You can either use the online website check-in or mobile app option which can be accessed anywhere with the help of the internet. 

• The flight check-in allows passengers to check-in 72 hours to 1 hour before the flight prior to the scheduled departure of flights within Mexico. 
• For international flights, the flight check-in starts 48 hours and closes 2 hours prior to scheduled departure.

• For most flights operated within Mexico, passengers without checked baggage must check-in at least 30 minutes before the departure. 
• For flights operated within Mexico, passengers with checked baggage must check-in Viva Aerobus airline flight at least 45 minutes before the departure of flight. 
• For international flights, passengers must check-in up to 120 minutes (2 hours) before the scheduled flight departure. 
• Flights to/from South America, passengers must check-in up to 90 minutes before the scheduled departure regardless of whether they are carrying checked baggage or not.

VivaAerobus airline Cancellation and Refund Policy

Viva Aerobus airline cancellation policy allows passengers to have flexibility while travelling. However, there are few regulations that passengers should abide by in case of cancellation to receive refunds. 

• As per the cancellation policy, passengers are allowed to cancel their reservations through the airline’s portal as well as via the customer support of the airline.

• Passengers travelling in Zeo fares are not allowed to cancel their flights. However, if the passenger misses its flight then the value of the ticket will lead to forfeiture.

Viva Aerobus airline 24 Hours Cancellation Policy

The airline allows passengers to cancel their Viva aerobus flights within 24 hours of making the reservation given that the scheduled departure is at least 7 days after the purchase of the ticket.

• Furthermore, the flights must originate from/to the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico. 
• This policy is only applicable on flights that have been booked directly from the airline’s website. 
• This policy is not applicable on group bookings.

Viva Aerobus airline Cancellation Fee

As mentioned in the cancellation policy, the airline does not issue any cancellation once the ticket is purchased. However, passengers can make changes in their flight itinerary as per flight change policy.

Viva Aerobus Airline Refund Policy

The airline does not offer refunds once the ticket is purchased. However, the airline does offer travel credit in certain cases. 

• As per the refund policy, in case of rescheduled flight, the airline will issue future travel credit if the renewed fare is less than the original fare paid. 
• As per Viva aerobus reviews, the airline does not compensate or refund if a passenger is unable to board the flight due to passenger issues. 
• Most fares are non-refundable and not eligible for any refund.  
• Passengers can only claim a refund if they cancel their flight within 24 hours of purchasing the ticket given that the scheduled departure is at least 7 days after the purchase of the ticket. 
• All the refunds issued by Viva Aerobus airline flight will be credited back to their original method of payment.
