This is the standard economy fare that offers 1 checked baggage weighing up to 50 Ibs and 1 carry-on baggage with a small personal bag. Passengers travelling on standard economy are eligible for seat selection in the central and rear sections of the economy. Economy Flex

Icelandair Airlines Baggage Policy

Icelandair Airlines offers ample baggage allowance to customers to ensure complete comfort and convenience. The baggage allowance depends on the route and destinations opted by the customers.

Checked Baggage

As per the Icelandair Airlines baggage policy, the checked baggage allowance must not exceed the combined dimensions of 62 inches / 158 cm and weight of 23 kg. All the items that exceed the limit of baggage will be considered as odd-sized or excess baggage.

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers are allowed to carry one carry-on baggage that must not exceed the dimension of 21.6 x 15.7 x 7.8 (55 x 40 x 20 cm) with a maximum weight of 10 kg as per Iceland air baggage policy. The baggage that exceeds the Iceland air carry-on baggage will be considered as checked baggage.

Children (2-11 years)

The airlines advises passengers to take check the time check-in for specific as standard check-in time may not be applicable everywhere. 

• As per Icelandair Airlines online check-in, the domestic check-in starts 45 minutes before the departure. 
• For flights departing from Greenland, the check-in time begins 90 minutes before the scheduled departure, thus the airline suggests passengers to reach the airport at least 2 hours before the departure time as per Icelandair check in policy. 
• For international Icelandair flights departing from Iceland’s Keflavik Airport check-in starts 2 hours before the scheduled departure and thus passengers should arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the flight is airborne.

Online Check-in Timing

Icelandair Airlines offers the feasibility of online check-in to passengers so that they can check-in from anywhere. The online check-in begins 36 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight. The airline’s online check-in is available for all flights except for Aberdeen and Belfast. Icelandair Airlines Cancellation and Refund Policy

Icelandair Airlines understands the urgency of cancelling the flight due to unforeseen circumstances. That’s why Icelandair offers a linenet cancellation policy that enables customers to cancel their flight without any hassle and claiming refunds.

• As per Icelandair Airlines cancellation policy, no service fee will be charged from the passengers if they have reserved the flight through the official website.
• As per Icelandair Airlines 24 hours cancellation policy, no cancellation fee will be incurred on refundable tickets if they are cancelled within 24 hours of booking. 
• In case of no show, the value of the ticket will forfeit and no refunds will be given to the passenger after the flight has taken off. 
• If an Icelandair flight is cancelled due to involuntary reasons such as technical issues, bad weather, shortage of staff etc then the airline will either offer an alternate flight or complete refund against the ticket to the passenger. 
• As per Iceland air cancellation policy, passengers with award flights are not eligible to cancel their flight. Incase of cancellation, the value of the ticket will not be refunded. 
• Icelandair Airlines allows cancellation of bookings24 hours before the scheduled departure of flight. 
• As per refund policy, it usually takes 20 business days after cancellation to receive a credit refund.

Icelandair Airlines Cancellation Policy for Domestic Flights

• Economy Light
  This fare is not eligible for any refund however, the airline will refund the government and airport taxes to the customers.     
• Economy Standard
  The basic fare of this ticket is non-refundable however, the government and airport imposed taxes will be refunded. As per Iceland air cancellation policy, if this fare is upgraded to Economy flex, then the non-refundable terms of the original fare will be applied and only the difference paid for upgrade will be refunded. 
• Economy Flex
  As per Icelandair Airlines cancellation policy, this fare is refundable and cancellation of flight can be made before the scheduled flight departure. If a non-refundable ticket has been upgraded to Flex fare then the original fare terms will be applied. 
• Saga Premium
  This fare is non-refundable however, the government and airport imposed taxes will be refunded to the customer. If non-refundable Saga Premium fare is upgraded to Flex fare then the fare rules of the original ticket will be applied. 
• Saga Premium Flex
  This fare is refundable and customers can claim a refund for the unused ticket. However, in case of no show, no refund will be given by the airlines.

Icelandair Airlines24 hour Cancellation Policy

To receive a full refund after booking the Icelandair Airlines flight, passengers must cancel their booking within 24 hours of making the reservation. Also, this policy is only applicable if the scheduled departure of the flight is at least 7 days after the date of booking.

Refundable Ticket Ticket

As per Iceland air cancellation policy, passengers can cancel their reservation on the same day of booking without any cancellation. According to the policy, customers must purchase the tickets via the airline’s official website to receive a full refund.

Non-Refundable Ticket

Customers can also cancel non-refundable tickets within 24 hours of making the reservation without paying any cancellation fee to receive full refund. Passengers who cancel their flight after 24 hours of risk-free period must pay a certain Icelandair Airlines cancellation fee to get a refund. In some other cases, customers may only receive the tax component of the ticket as a refund.

Icelandair Airlines Cancellation Fee

Icelandair Airlines has a certain cancellation fee for passengers who surpass the free cancellation window. The cost associated with cancellation depends on the ticket on several variables, including the days and the time of cancellation. 

• After the risk-free period expires, customers will have to pay Iceland air cancellation fees. 
• Passengers travelling Economy Lite tickets are required to pay a cancellation fee 70% of the value of ticket price.  
• Passengers do not have to pay any cancellation fee if they have paid 27 USD for the insurance plan.

Icelandair Airlines Refund Policy

Icelandair Airline has certain eligibility criteria when it comes to requesting a refund. 

• It usually takes 20 business days for the refunded amount to be credited to the customer’s bank account. Those customers who have purchased the ticket via credit card can receive a refund within 7 business days. 
• As per Icelandair refund policy, if the Icelandair flight is delayed for more than 5 hours then passengers will receive a complete refund irrespective of refundable or non-refundable tickets. 
• In case of flight or timing change, passengers are eligible to get Class Up refund. Also, passengers can contact the Icelandair customer service to resolve any issues about refunds.
