LATAM Airlines Group S.A is a Chilean holding company, headquartered in Santiago, Chile. It is known as the biggest airline company in Latin America along with its subsidiaries in Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay and Peru. Premium Economy

Passengers travelling on Premium Economy have VIP access to the LATAM lounge at selective overseas airports. All passengers can avail the priority check-in, baggage drop at the airport. As for the premium economy, the ergonomic seat with adjustable headrest offers extensive comfort to the passengers. The premium economy section is located in the first rows of LATAM Airlines Narrow body aircrafts. To add more  privacy and space to passengers, the airline purposely blocks the middle seat. LATAM Baggage Allowance

LATAM Baggage policy offers a generous baggage allowance which enables passengers to travel with plenty of baggage. However, there are certain regulations on baggage allowance for passengers.

Hand Baggage

All passengers travelling in LATAM are allowed to carry 1 bag of small backpack of dimension up to 45 cm x 35 cm x 20 cm. LATAM advises passengers to keep the backpack under the seat to utilize the space.

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers travelling in Light, Full Standard, Premium Economy, Premium Business of LATAM Air are entitled to carry 1 carry-on bag with maximum measurement that should not exceed 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm (height, length, and width). The maximum allowed weight for carry-on baggage is 10 kg for economy fare and 16 kg for passengers travelling in Economy and Business class.

Checked Baggage

As per LATAM baggage policy, the checked baggage allowance depends on the fare type that the passenger has purchased. Golf bags and skis and sport equipment are also counted as checked baggage if they are within the prescribed weight limit. 

The total dimension of checked baggage must not exceed 158 linear with a maximum weight of 23 kg per passenger. Those who want to purchase extra LATAM Airlines baggage allowance must pay certain extra charges as per LATAM checked baggage allowance.

LATAM Check-in

LATAM check-in policy ensures to provide customers the flexibility to check-in as per their convenience. You can either check-in for your LATAM check-in flight through an online web-check-in or you can opt for offline check-in at the airport counter. Offline check-in also includes check-in via kiosks that are available at the airport. 

  • For domestic flights, web check-in is available between 48 hours prior to scheduled flight departure and closes 60 minutes before the flight is airborne. 
  • For international flights, LATAM web check-in opens 96 hours before the scheduled departure and closes 120 minutes before the flight takes off. 
  • However, the check-in timing may vary as per the destinations that’s why the airline advises every passenger to complete LATAM check-in before the deadline. 
  • For flights operating within Brazil, the check-in closes 60 minutes before departure while for international flights to and from Brazil, check-in closes 90 minutes before scheduled departure.

LATAM Online Check-in

LATAM offers a feasible check-in facility which is accessible through the LATAM website depending on their destination. During online check-in passengers can choose their preferred seat, add or purchase baggage allowance.

LATAM Check-in Restrictions

  • Unaccompanied minors are not eligible for web check-in in LATAM Airlines, unaccompanied will have to check-in directly at the airport counter.

  • Passengers travelling within Brazil are not eligible to  cancel their booking online. For cancellation, they must contact LATAM customer support. 
  • Passengers should reach the boarding gate 20 minutes before scheduled flight departure as per LATAM check-in policy. 
  • In case, the passenger reports after flight departure, it will be considered as no-show and the value of the ticket will be forfeited. 
  • In case of checked luggage, passengers should reach the baggage drop counter 60 minutes before the scheduled departure of the flight.

LATAM Cancellation and Refund Policy

LATAM Airlines offers a lenient yet essential cancellation policy that allows passengers to cancel their flight without any trouble in case of emergencies.

There are multiple methods which allow passengers to cancel flights through both online website and mobile app mode. 

  • As per LATAM Airlines cancellation policy, if a passenger can easily get a refund by cancelling the ticket one-day post booking. 
  • Passengers are not allowed to cancel LATAM Airlines cancellation policy after check-in.
